I charge a daily rate of $3,600 plus GST.  This includes pre-mediation review of materials, pre-mediation calls to counsel, a full work day of mediation and any reasonable follow up if a settlement is not quite reached at mediation.  Fees are typically split 50/50 between the parties unless allocated otherwise by agreement.  Start and end times are by prior agreement.

I do not do half-day mediations as I find that this time constraint is typically ineffective.  Sometimes you get lucky and a dispute can be resolved in a few hours.  Usually it takes more work.

Mediation typically takes place at the offices of one party’s counsel, by prior agreement.  I have access to neutral third party boardroom space in downtown Vancouver and other locations but the cost of this space is an additional cost to the parties.  Travel outside the lower mainland is also charged separately.
